My aunt bought herself a new camera—she's big on upgrades—and gave me her "old" Canon PowerShot S1 IS. It doesn't have a rechargeable lithium-ion battery like my Sony, but it's an upgrade for me in several other ways. I'd still like to get the Sony fixed, but until the money becomes available for that, my new companion is the (slightly heavier, slightly bulkier) PowerShot.
It's kind of like having a limb restored after having it chopped off in an industrial accident.
